Attitude Measures

The attitude measures report on how pupils think about themselves. This is the ‘self concept’ part of the measure. The External part of the measure is how pupils think external forces affect them.  Both of these are further divided into more detailed areas.

Each sub construct has three or more statements associated with them.  The pupil indicates whether they strongly agree, agree, disagree or strongly disagree with each statement.

The responses are scored either 4, 3, 2 or 1 if the statement is positive and 1, 2, 3 or 4 if the statement is negative.  The scores for each group of statements relating to a sub construct are totalled and the percentage out of the maximum score possible is shown on the pupil and class report.  A statement for different ranges of scores for each sub construct is given on the pupil reports.
