I’ve entered the assessment number but it just says ‘loading’:

This will usually be the result of having your pop up blocker enabled. Please disable and try again.

I am unable to hear the audio on the questions:

Click on the first word in the question. Ensure that computers are audio enabled using our diagnostics. See above for link.

My assessments are freezing or repeating questions:

Bandwidth may be at fault. Check your bandwidth with our diagnostics. See above for link. Forward and backward buttons on your mouse can cause this issue, ensure they are not pressed. If the assessment freezes, log out and log back in and use the navigation buttons on the screen.

The assessment won’t load after the screening questions on National Curriculum Progress Assessments:

Check the length of your Internet Inactivity period. If you are unsure as to what this refers to, please contact your IT technician. Also check your bandwidth using our diagnostics, stagger the pupils’ logins and remove audio if not necessary to see if this resolves the issue.

I am unable to create an assessment when I log in:
Is there a space in your Goal User name? If so, remove the space and try again e.g. jo bloggs should be changed to jobloggs.

What is my LEA and DCSF Number?
Your LEA (Local Education Authority) number should consist of 3 digits e.g. 999.
Your DCSF (Department for Children, Schools and Families) number should consist of 4 digits e.g. 9999.

I’ve forgotten my login, what should I do?
You can consult the Goal administrator in your school or you can call us on 02476 516560 to find out. Please ensure you have your LEA and DCFS number to hand.

My test is locked, what does this mean?
A teacher can choose to lock an assessment should they need to prevent pupils from logging in out of school time. If an Interactive Assessment shows as locked after sending for marking, this may mean that pupils have not completed or closed the test down fully. Use crash recovery on Maths to re-complete the tests. If it’s Interactive ICT, then unfortunately the pupils will need to re-sit the assessment as at present there is no crash recovery.

I can only see one pupil’s results on the pupil analysis report:
Use the toolbar at the top of the report page to scroll through pages using the back and forward arrows. Use the print facility to print out all or individual pages.

I'm having difficulty printing the reports:

Please see above and look at the tutorial ‘7 – Printing Reports’ for help on how to do this.

I cannot see the entire question on the screen:

Your font size may be set to ‘Large’. You will need to set it to ‘Normal’. You can do this by right clicking on your desktop and going to ‘properties’

My pupils are unable to complete the assessment in the given time:

Use the complete later facility, available on all assessments except Interactive. If the facility isn’t available, press control and F4 to come out of the assessment then log in again.

What version of Flash/Adobe do I need?

Please use our diagnostic checker (at the top of this section) to establish if you are using the appropriate version.

What is the minimum bandwidth required to run Goal Assessments?

You minimum bandwidth should be 128kbps per machine.

What should my screen resolution be?

The screen resolution needs to be 1024 x 768 pixels or below e.g. 800 x 600. To check this, right click on your desktop, go to 'properties' then select the tab 'settings'.
